Health Data Management

Related Specialty: Public Health

Health data is essential to supporting and informing the delivery of care, research and policymaking. The volume and variety of data, as well as its availability, have been increasing in recent years.

The GAME Collaboration in Health Data Management will bring together researchers from partner institutions to establish a research program focused on the use of large data sources. The collaboration will focus initially on establishing a network focused on the development of real-world evidence (RWE). RWE studies provide evidence essential for activities such as clinical decision-making, priority setting, policy development, and health economics. The network will develop standardized methods across countries to increase the value and uptake of RWE studies. This will also address issues of reproducibility of findings, also leading to improvements in the application of findings to policy and practice.

The GAME Collaboration in Health Data Management will contribute to the development of a stronger evidence base focused on real-world effectiveness and safety of new, and existing, interventions with a initial focus on pharmaceuticals.
