24 Nov 2023 - The 7th Annual Meeting of the Global Alliance of Medical Excellence (GAME) was held in Bologna on November 23rd and 24th, 2023. It was centered on "Research and Teaching for Sustainable Healthcare". Professor Mario Lima, Dean of the School of Medicine at the University of Bologna, welcomed participants, emphasizing the importance of face-to-face interaction for collaboration. The theme highlighted the pillars of GAME's collaborations: common research projects and innovative teaching formats.
On the first day, delegates from partner universities shared their visions of GAME, focusing on achievements, expectations, and future plans. Bilateral agreements were signed, followed by a poster session featuring PhD students. The programme addressed updates on research initiatives and common teaching initiatives, covering international and inter-professional medical education.
The second day featured a strategic meeting with roundtable discussions on the future of GAME. Presentations addressed health and climate challenges, the role of AI in medicine, graduate research, collaborative opportunities in gastroenterology, inter-professional education, and future plans for GAME. The event provided a platform for delegates to engage in meaningful discussions, fostering collaboration and sharing insights into the future of medical excellence.
