Medication Review: A Powerful Tool for Interprofessional Patient Care

The eighth Transnational Educational Initiative (TEI) will be hosted by University of Bologna, Italy, on 13-15 July 2026.  The TEI Summit for Future Leaders invites participants from GAME member institutions to participate in this significant global medical educational initiative.

A certificate will be provided by University of Bologna to participating students upon completion of the programme.

Learning objectives

As future prescribers of medicines, the participants will be able to the followings:

  • Aware of the importance of getting acquainted with the healthcare system where they will practice (the path towards access to medications and their sustainability).

  • Apply the principles of pharmacological management, using simulation as a safe environment, and Demonstrate basic skills in prescribing including therapeutic reasoning to gain awareness and confidence in their future role.

  • Discuss the importance of human factors including interprofessional communication in the management of pharmacological therapies.

  • Suggest  how to mitigate the burden of medication error in worldwide at individual, and institutional and system levels.

  • Envisioning how emerging health technologies may transform traditional communication and collaboration among healthcare professionals in prescribing, and discussing the related ethical challenges.
